Hoffman Estates’ girls basketball team stayed alive in the Class 4A postseason by topping Fenton 66-63 on Monday in a regional play-in game at Wheaton Warrenville South. Barrington sophomore Taylor Thompson tied her school’s single-game scoring record with 35 points in a 70-49 win over Waukegan at the Zion-Benton regional.

Addison Trail defeated West Chicago in the Class 4A Addison Trail girls basketball regional quarterfinals.

Amalia Figuero enjoyed her Senior Night by leading Leyden’s girls basketball team with 17 points in a 56-25 win over Ridgewood on Thursday night in Northlake.

Downers Grove South’s girls basketball team topped Leyden 47-37 in the West Suburban Gold. JJJunior guard Jasmine Igartua led the Eagles with 14 points, including four 3-pointers.

Conant’s girls basketball team, which moved into a first-place tie in the Mid-Suburban West on Friday night, came back less than 24 hours later to face visiting New Trier on Saturday. The Trevians broke on top 12-4 after one quarter in Hoffman Estates and went on to post a 53-37 triumph in a nonconference game that featured the mentor against her student.
