Palatine, Buffalo Grove hosting Tuesday fundraiser for BrainUp

The Palatine and Buffalo Grove boys basketball teams will be hosting a fundraiser for the organization BrainUp on Tuesday during their Mid-Suburban League crossover game at BG.

BrainUp is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing awareness to brain cancer. BrainUp has a local connection, Kendall Eich, a family friend of BG coach Keith Peterson.

Eich and her brothers went to Palatine High School and particpated in basketball, volleyball, lacrosse and football. Kendall battled brain cancer for five years before passing away last year.

Throughout the night on Tuesday, there will be 50/50 split the pot raffles, $1 for a shirt contest, and a variety of different ways of donating.

The Eich family has donated shirts for all of the players and coaches.
