Vernon Hills, Grayslake Central fall in regional finals

Anthony Sayles scored a game-high 16 points, and top-seeded Notre Dame defeated Vernon Hills 56-30 to win the Class 3A North Chicago regional championship on Friday night.

Notre Dame (28-5) advanced to the Grayslake North sectional and will play No. 5 Deerfield at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a semifinal.

No. 9 Vernon Hills (15-18) was led by Tony Brown with 15 points.

St. Patrick 55, Grayslake Central 48

At St. Patrick, the No. 2 seed won the Class 3A regional final to advance to the Grayslake North sectional.

St. Patrick (23-7) will play No. 3 St. Viator at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

No. 7 Grayslake Central finished the season 18-14.
