Bulgarelli scores 22 as Wauconda stays in first

Nick Bulgarelli scored a season-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers, and Wauconda's boys basketball team defeated visiting North Chicago 67-58 on Tuesday night to remain in sole possession of first place in the Northern Lake County Conference.

Donovan Carter added 18 points and 9 rebounds for Wauconda (19-6, 10-2). Benji Chung had 12 for the Bulldogs.

North Chicago fell to 6-22 and 4-8 in the NLCC.

Lakes 36, Antioch 35: Aidan Sage's putback with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter gave the visiting Eagles the victory in Northern Lake County Conference action.

Sage led Lakes (9-18, 5-7) with 14 points, and Branden Nava added 9, as the Eagles rallied from 6 points down in the fourth.

Antioch (12-14, 4-7), which missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer, was led by Gavin Eldridge's 10 points.

Stevenson 64, Waukegan 32: RJ Holmes had 12 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks, and the host Patriots maintained sole possession of first place in the North Suburban Conference with their sixth win in a row.

John Ittounas (9 rebounds, 3 assists) and Matthew Ambrose (3 assists, 2 steals) added 11 points each for Stevenson, which improved to 22-4 and 11-1 in the NSC.

Waukegan (1-27, 0-12) was led by Amari LeFlore, who had 8 points and 3 assists.

Grant 50, Grayslake North 38: The host Bulldogs improved to 8-20 and 4-8 in the Northern Lake County Conference with their second win in three games.

Grayslake North fell to 8-17 and 4-8 in the NLCC with its third loss in a row.

Vernon Hills 71, Grayslake North 55: On Monday night, Jack Barszcz scored 29 points to lead the visiting Cougars to the nonconference win.

Josh Liu and Tony Brown added 14 and 13 points, respectively, for Vernon Hills (13-15).
