Fremd gets 20th win

One day after clinching its 10th Mid-Suburban League West crown in 11 years under coach Dave Yates, Fremd's girls basketball team hit the 20-win mark.

The Vikings posted a 63-19 triumph at Wheaton Warrenville South to run their record to 20-6.

Balanced scoring was the theme as Grace LaBarge (10 points), Olivia Hill (10), Emily Klaczek (8), Ruthie Montella (6), Kendall Maloney (6) and Ally Sheehan (6) led the way.

Conant 41, Lyons 40: Isabella Tierney (9 points), Neeha Kakuturu (7), Rachel Kutella (7), Chikere Oduocha (7) and Sam Locascio (6) were top scorers for the Cougars (9-13) in the nonconference win.

St. Viator 52, Nazareth 40: The visiting Lions (10-13, 3-1) won the ESCC contest in LaGrange behind Joy Bergstrom (17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals), Nora Ahram (16 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds) and Aubrey Horbach (11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 blocked shot).

Highland Park 40, Wheeling 27: Senior guard Chloe Drozdz scored 13 points with four 3-pointers to lead the visiting Wheeling (4-23) in the nonconference game. Niki Niznik and Naomi Metellus added 3-pointers for the Wildcats.
