Thompson, Barrington roll past Grant

Barrington's girls basketball team won for the third time in four games with a 59-26 nonconference triumph over visiting Grant on Tuesday night.

Senior Taylor Thompson led the Fillies with 20 points while freshman Sophie Swanson chipped in 13. Sophomore Laura Mahlum and senior Katie Tomczyk each contributed 8 as the Fillies raised their record to 12-6.

Rolling Meadows 53, Oak Park-River Forest 36: Visiting Rolling Meadows improved to 10-5 with the nonconference win led by Madi Niedbala (13 points), Susannah Holfield (12), Emily Galvan (9) Bridget Rolla (9) and Alison Sellergren (7).

Lake Forest 43, Buffalo Grove 41 (OT): Mid-Suburban East leader Buffalo Grove (9-8) took Lake County power and host Lake Forest to overtime before falling.

Christian Liberty 55, Westlake 38: Visiting Christian Liberty (10-3) won the nonconference game behind Melissa Castro (25 points, five 3-pointers), Dayna Mateo (11 points) and Julia Wolke 9).

Lyons 38, Schaumburg 37: Talia Torosian and Alyssa Orozco each scored 11 points for the Saxons (7-9) in the nonconference game.

Grayslake Central 52, Palatine 36: Olivia Radtke (12 points) and Madi Stark (10) led the visiting Pirates (7-8) in the nonconference game. Radtke connected for three 3-pointers while Laura Seeburger had one.

St. Charles North 45, Conant 38: Neeha Kakuturu, Emily Ytsen and Chikere Oduocha all scored 9 points for the host Cougars (4-10) in the nonconference game. Sam Locasio had a pair of 3-pointers for Conant.

St. Viator 53, St. Edward 43; Host St. Viator (6-7) was led by Joy Bergstrom (21 points), Nora Ahram (11) and Aubrey Horbach (11) in the nonconference win. Bergstrom had three 3-pointers while Ahram and Kate Peterson had one apiece.
