Carmel's Wilson nets 1,000th point

Carmel Catholic junior guard Kimahri Wilson delivered a milestone basket but couldn't help the Corsairs from dropping a 65-55 decision to host Moline in the Eastbay Shootout at historic Wharton Field House on Saturday night.

Wilson scored 27 points, reaching 1,000 for his career. He has been a varsity starter since his freshman year. Syone Usma-Harper added 11 points for Carmel (6-9), which lost its fourth game in a row.

The Corsairs return to action Tuesday night with a nonconference game at Lakes.

Marian Catholic 68, Carmel 49: On Friday, at Moline, the Corsairs dropped the Eastbay Shootout game, which also counted in the East Suburban Catholic Conference standings.

Kimahri Wilson led Carmel (0-3 ESCC) with 13 points. Syone Usma-Harper had 10, and Bryce Moore added 9.
