Mundelein falls in title game at Collinsville

Collinsville's boys basketball team defeated Mundelein 63-48 in the championship game of Collinsville's 36th annual Prairie Farms Holiday Classic on Monday night.

The win kept Collinsville undefeated, while handing Mundelein (13-1, 3-1 tourney) its first loss of the season.

Scottie Ebube had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Mustangs, and Conor Enright had 15 points, 3 assists and 5 rebounds. Mundelein's other contributors included Jack Bikus (10 points, 5 rebounds) and Trey Baker (8 points).

Vernon Hills 67, Addison Trail 40: At Maine East, Jack Barszcz had 17 points and 7 rebounds, as the Cougars closed out tournament action.

Barszcz was named to the all-tournament team after helping Vernon Hills (8-7) go 2-2 in the tourney.

Leyden 53, Lakes 41: At Maine East, the Eagles dropped their final game in the tournament to finish sixth with a 2-2 record.

Lakes (5-8) was led in scoring by Tylor Gunther with 12 points. Aidan Sage was selected to the all-tournament team for the Eagles.
