Kaneland 39, Mt. Pulaski 23: Taylor Carlson scored 11 points with three 3-point baskets as the Knights improved to 11-5 with Friday's victory in their third game of the Riverton Hawk Christmas Classic.

Delaney Sheehan added 10 points for Kaneland, which held Mt. Pulaski scoreless for the entire opening quarter. The Knights led 21-8 at halftime.

Earlier in the day, Kaneland suffered a 36-34, tough-luck loss to Tremont despite a 16-point, 11-rebound effort from Kylie Holubecki. McKenzie Schueler added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals for the Knights.

Lake Zurich 56, Batavia 46: Senior Erin Golden and freshman Tessa Towers finished with 14 and 13 points, respectively, during the Bulldogs' loss to Lake Zurich in the second round of the Montini Christmas Tournament in Lombard.

Alayna Soukup scored 4 of the last 6 points as the Bears (8-4) withstood a late Batavia rally.

The Bulldogs (3-10), who face Huntley at 8 a.m. Saturday, were outscored 30-20 in the second half.

Harvest Christian 48, Alden-Hebron 40: Trailing 22-20 at halftime, the Lions (7-3) outscored the Green Giants 26-20 in the second half of their second-round victory in Hebron.

Harvest Christian returns to face Willows Academy at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

St. Edward 50, Coal City 34: At Lisle, sophomore guard Brooke Biggins scored a game-high 19 points, including 7 of 9 from the free-throw line, as the Green Wave (3-9) defeated Coal City.

Samantha Ottinger tallied 8 of her 13 points in the first half as St. Edward built a 28-20 lead at the intermission.

Aurora Christian 45, Danville Schlarman 37: In Peotone, Anna Griffin poured in 17 points and Thaya Luse chipped in 13 as the Eagles improved to 13-0 with their 8-point victory over Danville Schlarman at the Blue Devils Holiday Classic.

Lexi Lemanna added 8 points for the Eagles, who take on Joliet Catholic at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Hampshire 37, Trinity 30: The Whip-Purs improved to 9-6 with Friday's second-round victory over Trinity at the Dundee-Crown Komaromy Classic Tournament.

Kelby Bannerman led Hampshire with 13 points, 11 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots while teammate Alyssa Cork added 8 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Makiyah Williams had 11 points for Trinity.

Hampshire, which limited Trinity to just 9 second-half points, faces St. Charles North at 2 p.m. Saturday.

St. Charles North 57, South Elgin 52: Twenty-three days after letting a 21-point slip away in a 49-46 loss to South Elgin, the North Stars (8-5) rallied past the Storm Friday at the Charger Komaromy Classic in Carpentersville.

Talia Pellegrini led 3 players in double figures with 14 points, while Tatum Settelmyer and Morgan Klug added 12 and 10 points, repectively, as the North Stars overcame a 45-44 third-quarter deficit.

Settlemyer finished with 4 of the North Stars' 11 3-point baskets.

South Elgin senior Megan McClure led all players with 29 points, including eight 3-pointers, while Ella Winterhalder added 9 points.

Bartlett 54, West Aurora 28: Lexie Sinclair scored 12 of her 21 points in the third quarter during the Hawks' victory over West Aurora in the third day of the Bill Neibch Holiday Classic at Wheaton North.

Mackenzie Hare added 9 points for Bartlett, which faces Waubonsie Valley in Saturday's (4:30 p.m.) 5th-place game.

In other action at Wheaton North, Jacobs dropped a 30-29 decision to Schaumburg Friday despite an 11-point, 5-rebound effort from Courtney Pahl. The Golden Eagles face Glenbard North for 11th place at noon Saturday.

St. Charles East received 13 points from Torrie Kortan and 11 points from Elle McCaslin in their 43-36 loss to Hinsdale Central.

Leading 21-14 at halftime, the Saints were outscored 29-15 over the final 16 minutes while shooting just 26 percent from the field. The Saints, 0-3 in the tourney, take on Elgin at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Sabrina Moskow scored 12 points and hauled down 7 rebounds during Elgin's 57-26 loss to Glenbrook South.
