Larkin's Young scores 1,000th point

Larkin senior Brianna Young needed 5 points Monday night against Glenbard South to reach 1,000, and she hit the number on the dot. Young, a four-year starter, joins Streamwood's Mandy Mien and South Elgin's Megan McClure as Upstate Eight players who have reached the milestone this year.

Aurora Central Catholic 51, Rosary 47: Vanessa Camp led a balanced attack for the Chargers with 13 points. Catherine Klein added 10, Delani Koner 9 and Lizzie Albert and Izzy Hernandez both had 8 for the Chargers, who trailed 39-36 entering the fourth quarter.

Emily Hurst led the Royals with 12 points.

South Elgin 45, East Aurora 43: The Storm (10-1, 5-0) stayed perfect in the Upstate Eight behind sophomore Ella Winterhalder's 14 points, 9 from Madison Waichunas and 8 from Megan McClure.

St. Charles North 49, Schaumburg 16: The North Stars (6-4) held the Saxons to 7 points over the final three quarters for the nonconference win. Launi Chanthaboury scored a game-high 13 points.
