Lake Forest knocks off Stevenson
With Division I prospect, Halle Douglass on the court on Thursday night, it's a safe bet she went home as the game's top scorer.
Actually, you would lose that bet.
That honor belonged to Stevenson senior Avery King and it wasn't that close.
King, one of two seniors on the Patriots', led all scorers with 23 points.
Stevenson entered Lake Forest sporting an impressive 6-1 mark. But the Patriots never led after Ava Bardic dropped in a 10-footer. It was 3-2.
Douglass didn't score in the first quarter but did her damage in the rest of the game. She shared scoring honors with her teammate Finola Summerville. Each Scout each scored 14 points.
The final was 50-42 Lake Forest.
"We were playing catch up the whole night,'' said Stevenson coach Ashley Graham.
"I like this team,'' King said. "We have a lot of people who can score for us."
