ACC's Kosner reaches 1,000

Aurora Central Catholic senior Delani Kosner scored her 1,000th career point Tuesday night against Sandwich.

The Chargers lost the game 46-34 in the Somonauk Tournament. Kosner, who averaged 14.1 points last season and will play next year at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, scored 19 points including 6 of 8 shooting at the free-throw line.

Aurora Central Catholic followed with a 50-43 win over Plano on Wednesday. Kosner again scored 19 points, Vanessa Camp had 11 and Izzy Hernandez 7.

Geneva 70, Woodstock 30: The Vikings led 53-13 at halftime Wednesday and won their opener - part of Burlington Central's Thanksgiving Tournament - behind 21 points from Lindsay Blackmore and 17 from Kate Palmer.

Elgin 34, Elmwood Park 31: Giana Kilbert scored 13 points and Sabrina Moskow added 10 as the Maroons (1-0) opened their season Tuesday with a victory.

Westminster Christian 29, Elgin Academy 26: Taylor Barker had 13 points and 6 rebounds and Meadow Oesterle scored 12 points leading the Warriors to a win in their first game Tuesday.
