Stevenson's supersectional game time moved up for Tuesday

Stevenson's boys basketball team and its fans will get to bed an hour earlier Tuesday night.

Due to the IHSA ruling Friday's Class 3A sectional championship game between North Lawndale and Farragut a double forfeit, Stevenson's Class 4A supersectional contest against Evanston will tip off at 7 p.m. instead of 8 p.m. at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.

It will be the only game at the Sears on Tuesday, as the Class 3A game that was scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. has been canceled.

DePaul College Prep, which defeated St. Viator in the Class 3A Grayslake Central sectional final, will now head straight to Peoria and next weekend's state finals as a result of the double forfeit.

Stevenson, which will take a 27-5 record into Tuesday's supersectional, defeated Waukegan 56-41 Friday night to advance to the Elite Eight while Evanston (31-4), which finished third in Class 4A last year, downed Loyola 56-42 on Friday to advance.

Tuesday's winner moves on to the Class 4A state semifinals next Friday at Carver Arena in Peoria to play the winner of the NIU supersectional contest between Geneva and Rockford East.
