Mundelein nets win at UC

Mundelein's boys basketball team made the most of its opportunity to play at the United Center on Saturday afternoon.

Conor Enright had 22 points and 9 rebounds, Scottie Ebube added 19 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocked shots, and the Mustangs pulled out a 56-55 win over Schurz in a nonconference game.

Jack Bikus had 7 points for Mundelein (16-9)

Grayslake Central 63, Palatine 62 (2 OT): Daniel Guckenberger scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, as the host Rams prevailed in double overtime for their third win in a row and fourth in five games.

Coby Moe added 15 points and also sank three 3s for Grayslake Central (11-12). Grant Hardy scored 4 of his 6 points in overtime for the Rams, which also got a 3 in OT from Christopher Thomas.

Grant 70, Lakes 48: The host Bulldogs rebounded from their loss to North Chicago on Friday night to remain atop the Northern Lake County Conference standings.

Henry Kusiak's 16 points lead four players in double figures for Grant (15-11, 8-2). Hunter Waszkowski added 15, and Joe Gorden and Tavarus Williams each had 11.

Grant played its second game in a row without starting guard Torren Curry (knee bruise).

Lakes fell to 6-17 and 3-6 in the NLCC.

Antioch 62, Round Lake 50: Austin Andrews' 16 points led three players in double figures, and the host Sequoits snapped a four-game losing streak in Northern Lake County Conference play.

Dan Filippone and Gavin Eldridge added 14 and 12 points, respectively, for Antioch (12-9, 4-5). Ben Nauman scored 9 points for the Sequoits.

Round Lake (9-16, 0-10) was led by Hakim Williams' 24 points.

St. Viator 51, Lake Zurich 41: The host Lions won the nonconference game to improve to 20-5.

Lake Zurich fell to 7-20.

Lake Forest 51, Warren 49: The visiting Scouts pulled out the North Suburban Conference game, as Crawford Bolton scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Jake Fisher had 15 points and 7 assists for Lake Forest (9-14, 5-6).

Warren fell to 12-14 and 4-7 in the NSC with its second tough loss in as many days.

Stevenson 47, Highland Park 17: At Fremd, the Patriots led 13-6 after one quarter and 28-13 at halftime, then held the Giants to 2 points in both the third and fourth quarters.

R.J. Holmes' 11 points and 5 rebounds led Stevenson (21-3), which had 10 players score. Matt Ambrose added 8 points for the Patriots, who visit Waukegan on Tuesday in a battle for first place in the North Suburban Conference. John Ittounas contributed 7 points and 3 assists.

Billy Rudman had 7 points for Highland Park (10-14).

Carmel 62, Burlington Central 53: At Indian Creek, down 19-10 after one quarter and 25-24 at halftime, the Corsairs outscored the Rockets 20-18 in the third quarter to take a 44-43 lead into the fourth en route to the nonconference win.

Carmel improved to 18-10, while Burlington Central fell to 18-7.

Wauconda d. CICS/Northtown, fft: The Bulldogs won the scheduled game by forfeit because Northtown, one of four Chicago International Charter School campuses, is on strike.

Wauconda improved to 12-13.
