Matt Ambrose leads Stevenson past Lake Zurich

Matt Ambrose's 19 points led three players in double figures, as Stevenson's boys basketball team maintained its share of first place in the North Suburban Conference by beating host Lake Zurich 55-42 on Wednesday night.

Matt Kaznikov added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the Patriots (19-3, 9-1), while Luke Chieng had 10 points and 4 assists. Ambrose grabbed 5 rebounds, as well.

J.R. Cison scored 19 points to lead Lake Zurich (7-18, 2-8).

Grayslake North 54, Vernon Hills 49: Tony Hines scored 14 points to lead the visiting Knights to the nonconference win.

Ryan Connolly (12 points) and Jamon Thomas (11) also scored in double figures for Grayslake North (14-10), which extended its winning streak to six games.

Jack Barszcz scored 13 points for Vernon Hills (7-18).
