Barrington survives in 3 OTs

It took three overtimes but Barrington's girls basketball team was able to get its fourth win in the Mid-Suburban League West with a 56-52 win at Palatine on Wednesday night.

Junior Shanna Turczynski led the Fillies (8-15, 4-3) with 16 points, followed by Taylor Thompson (12), Sydney Granby (10), Laura Mahlum (9) and Anna Mae King (7).

"I was really proud of our kids to pull this game out," said Barrington coach Babbi Barreiro. "I feel like they were gutsy and worked hard to stay together. We had three starters on the bench in the final overtime (two fouled out and one injured). The kids off the bench did a great job. It was a nice team win."
