Wauconda wins 5th straight

Donovan Carter scored 18 points to lead four players in double figures, as Wauconda's boys basketball team defeated Sullivan 71-64 at Deerfield in MLK tournament action on Tuesday night.

Nick Bulgarelli added 12 points and 5 rebounds for Wauconda (9-7), which stretched its season-best winning streak to five games. Benji Chung had 11 points, 6 assists and 6 steals, while Connor Brannick scored 10 points. Chung sank three 3-pointers, and Carter and Brannick each made a pair.

Wauconda, which also got 9 points from Jason Carlson, hosts North Chicago in Northern Lake County Conference action on Thursday night.

Barrington 57, Grant 54: Hunter Waszkowski scored a game-high 16 points, but the host Bulldogs dropped the nonconference game.

Grant (9-10) also received 15 points (three 3-pointers) from Henry Kusiak and eight from Torren Curry.

Lake Forest 48, Lakes 31: The host Eagles lost the nonconference game, despite Brad Cherry's 18 points.

Lakes fell to 4-13.

Jake Fisher led Lake Forest with 11 points.
