King leads Stevenson past Waukegan

Avery King led all scorers with 20 points, Lydia Lueck added a season-high 15 coming off the bench, and Stevenson's girls basketball team defeated visiting Waukegan 62-33 in North Suburban Conference action on Saturday night.

Simone Sawyer scored 10 of her 12 points in the opening quarter, and King had 11 in helping the Patriots build a 23-4 lead. Lueck made three 3-pointers, as Stevenson improved to 12-7 and 3-4 in the NSC.

Palatine 39, Grayslake Central 35: The visiting Rams led 29-27 after three quarters, but got outscored 12-6 in the fourth to lose the nonconference game.

Kate Bullman scored a game-high 15 points for Grayslake Central (13-7), which lost its third game in a row after winning eight straight.

Maura Fitzgerald and Rosie Drevline had 7 points each in the loss.

Rich South 43, Grayslake North 40: The host Knights dropped the nonconference game to fall to 6-12 on the season.
