Carmel loses Shootout opener at Moline

Marian Catholic 57, Carmel 33: At Wharton Field House, the Corsairs lost their opening game in the inaugural Moline Shootout.

Carmel (11-7) plays host Moline at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Waukegan 64, Lake Forest 46: Bryant Brown had 19 points and 6 rebounds, and the host Bulldogs remained undefeated in North Suburban Conference action.

Andre White Jr. and Jordan Brown added 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Waukegan (13-3, 4-0).

Crawford Bolton had a team-high 14 points and 9 boards for Lake Forest (5-10, 2-2), and Jake Fisher chipped in 10. The Scouts had a 7-2 lead in the first couple of minutes, but Waukegan's pressure defense took over, as the Bulldogs scored 13 unanswered points for a 15-7 margin after the opening quarter.

Waukegan held a 36-21 advantage at the break. The Scouts closed the margin to 41-30 midway through the third quarter, but the Bulldogs kept their lead in double digits the rest of the way.
