"We pushed through a slow start against a strong Hampshire team today," said Barrington coach Babbi Barreiro. "I was happy with the way we came back. We certainly had our chances to take care of business today and we turned the ball over at some costly times. Credit to Hampshire - they knocked down the shots when they needed to."

Other key performers for Barrington were Anna Mae King (13 points, 3 assists), Laura Mahlum (8 points, 4 rebounds), Sydney Granby (6 points, 5 rebounds) and Michaela Goetze (3 steals).

"We again had some nice performances from Anna Mae King and Taylor Thompson," Barreiro added. "The two of them were very consistent all four games over the tournament.

"Our kids are improving daily. We competed well this holiday tourney and our youngsters keep getting better. While picking up a couple more wins would have been great our process is coming along. We are looking forward to this second half of the season. I have a lot of faith in this group from top to bottom."

"Annika led all scorers while playing as an undersized post player," said Chargers coach Steve Rowland.

Freshman Audrey Law (12 points) and sophomore Megan Ng (11) were top scorers against St. Anne and against Manteno when Ng had 13 and Law 12.

"It was a great opportunity to travel down and play some schools we would never get to see during the regular season," said Chargers coach Steve Rowland. "Being the first year attending the tournament, the girls really represented themselves very well."

Wolke was named to the all tournament team while Ng and Law received all-tourney votes. They all averaged double-digit points in the three games.

Rowland said Dinkelman and freshman Hannah Mindak had a 'tremendous' tournament on the boards.

"Hannah Mindak has suddenly started to shine at the other post," Rowland said.

Mindak averaged 5.5 points and 6 rebounds in the tourney.

"I was really pleased with the energy and effort our girls play with," Rowland added. "We are undersized but you wouldn't know it playing against teams that are much bigger than we are."
