Lee, Buffalo Grove top Stevenson

Junior Kendra Lee scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help lead Buffalo Grove's girls basketball to a 37-26 win over Stevenson on Friday at the Komaromy Classic at Dundee-Crown High School.

The Bison (10-6) will face Maine South for fifth place on Saturday at 5 p.m. BG edged the Hawks 30-27 at its own Bison Classic earlier this season

Junior Macy Floro added 10 points and senior Jackie Bickhaus 5 for BG on Friday. Junior Zori Angelova collected 6 rebounds and senior Sydney Fortman had 5.

Prospect 58, Barrington 49: Prospect stopped Barrington for the second time this season, this time winning in Friday's consolation semifinal game of the Komaromy Classic at Dundee-Crown High School.

The Knights won a nonconference match over Barrington 74-44 four weeks ago.

Abbey Danciu (12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals) and Ashley Adams (12 points) were top scorers for Prospect (9-5).

Sarah Skaggs added 9 points and Stephanie Kowalczyk 8 while Ellen Sherwood grabbed 4 rebounds.

Leading Barrington (5-11) were Taylor Thompson (16 points, 14 rebounds) and Anna Mae King (15 points, 8 rebounds).

Shanna Turcyznski added 10 points and Michaela Goetze handed out 4 assists.

Schaumburg 65, Waubonsie Valley 58 (OT): The Saxons (10-7) advanced to the fifth-place game of the Bill Neibch Classic at Wheaton North and will face Willowbrook on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

York 37, Hersey 33: Sophomore guard Mary Kate Fahey led the Huskies (10-7) with 12 points while Aya El-Fiky and Emily Collins each chipped in 6 points in he consolation game of the Montini tournament.

York rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit, outscoring the Huskies 15-0 in the third quarter.

Hersey wraps up play in the 16-team on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. against Lake Zurich.

Palatine 47, St. Charles East 37: The Pirates (3-11) won their second straight game at the Bill Neibch Classic at Wheaton. They will face defending champion Glenbard South at 3 p.m. on Saturday for the consolation championship.

Madi Stark led the Pirates while Olivia Radtke and Kayla Miotk each added 11. They all had 6 rebounds, too,

Glenbard South 31, Elk Grove 26: The Grenadiers (4-10) will face St. Charles East for 11th place on Saturday at noon.

Zion-Benton 45, Wheeling 26: Wheeling (7-9) was led by 5-foot-10 junior Morgan Collar's 8 points in the final day of pool play of the Blenner Classic at St. Viator.

The Wildcats will play for fifth place on Saturday against Glenbrook North at 7 p.m.

Plainfield North 40, Leyden 37: Evelyn Abundes led the Eagles (5-8) with 17 points including five 3-pointers in the final game of pool play at the Blenner Classic.

Becky Perez contributed 10 points for Leyden which will play Maine East for seventh place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
