Barrington knocks off Lake Zurich

Barrington's boys basketball team got a measure of revenge Saturday when the Broncos defeated Lake Zurich 72-67 in a nonconference game at Lake Zurich.

The Bears ousted Barrington from the state tournament last year, 69-60 in the sectional finals.

On Saturday, Barrington (7-2) won the game at the free-throw line. The Broncos made 28 of 39 from the stripe while Lake Zurich was 11-for-15.

Leading the way for Barrington, which won its third straight, was senior Mark Johnson with 23 points (11 of 16 free throws). Senior Jason Boock added 20 points (13 of 15 free throws) and senior Will Raider had 12 points.

Palatine 47, Northridge Prep 33: Senior Julian Campbell had a game-high 19 points to lead the Pirates (3-6) to a nonconference win. Marshawn Rayford added 11 points for Palatine and Ben Storm had 9, all on 3-pointers.

Illinois Lutheran 48, Christian Liberty 47 (OT): Breckin Aiello and Dylan Veigel had 11 points each to lead Christian Liberty in a nonconference loss.
