Piggott paces Lake Zurich past Stevenson

Maddy Piggott scored a season-high 16 points, Ella Gilbertson added 15, and Lake Zurich held off host Stevenson 39-38 in North Suburban Conference girls basketball action on Wednesday night.

The Bears (7-6, 3-2) led 9-8 after one quarter, 18-16 at halftime and 28-22 after three. It was Lake Zurich's fourth game in six days.

Stevenson (7-4, 1-4) was led by Simone Sawyer's 16 points and Avery King's 13.

Zion-Benton 56, Mundelein 37: Morgan Callahan scored a game-high 20 points to lead the visiting Zee-Bees to the North Suburban Conference win.

Kendall Klatt led Mundelein (5-8, 2-4) with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Morgan Frank added 10 points for the Mustangs, who trailed only 16-12 after one quarter and 26-21 at halftime but got outscored 14-2 in the third. It was Mundelein's fifth loss in its last six games.

Z-B improved to 4-1 in the NSC.
