Sergio, Golden lead Batavia to DuKane victory
Batavia evened its DuKane Conference record at 1-1 with a 60-32 win over Glenbard North on Saturday.
Ava Sergio led the Bulldogs (5-6) with 19 points. Erin Golden scored 15 points and Geddy Rerko scored 10.
Huntley 52, Rockford Guilford 26: Kamsi Nwogu led the offense for Huntley (4-5) with 20 points. Bri Bower and Missy Moffett each added 7 points for the Red Raiders.
Hampshire 40, Palatine 38: Kelby Bannerman led the offense for Hampshire (6-3) with 15 points in this overtime win. Ally Cermak finished with 11 points.
Schaumburg 39, South Elgin 36: Aryanna Williams scored 15 points for South Elgin (6-4) and Megan McClure added 6 points in a nonconference loss, snapping the Storm's six-game winning streak.
Conant 44, Cary-Grove 33: Bailey Steinkamp scored 11 points to lead Cary-Grove (2-7). Elsa Larry added 9 points for the Trojans.
Aurora Christian 64, Westminster Christian 35: Tori Henning moved into second place on Aurora Christian's all-time list of career points after scoring 29 with a school-record nine 3-pointers. Henning passed Alyssa Andersen.
Lexi Lamanna added 11 points for Aurora Christian (7-3) while Keely Frens led Westminster with 13 points.
Aurora Central Catholic 58, Joliet Catholic 44: Delani Kosner had 21 points, 8 assists and 5 blocked shots for Aurora Central Catholic (4-4), and Tressa Cwinski added 8 points and 7 rebounds. Lara Anger finished with 6 points and 7 rebounds for the Chargers.
Bishop McNamara 65, St. Edward 14: Samantha Ottinger led St. Edward (2-8, 2-2) with 6 points in a tough Metro Suburban loss. Mia Castro added 4 points for the Lady Wave, including a perfect 2 for 2 from the free-throw line.
