Wheeling gets past Maine East

Junior Megan Collar scored 15 points Wednesday night to lead Wheeling's girls basketball team to a 47-34 nonconference win over Maine East.

Senior Nosa Igiehon added 13 points for the Wildcats (4-4), who host Hersey in the Mid-Suburban East on Friday at 6 p.m.

Nazareth 60, St. Viator 24: In a game between Top Ten Class 3A ranked teams, Nazareth (8-0, 1-0) built a 39-13 lead at half en route to win at St. Viator (7-2, 0-1) in the East Suburban Catholic opener. Elise Horbach (9 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steals), Emma Morrisey (6 points, 3 rebounds) and Joy Bergstrom (5 points, 4 rebounds) led the Lions, who come back Saturday at 7 p.m. for a ESCC match against visiting Carmel.
