Barrington rolls past McHenry
Aaron Sarker scored 12 points Wednesday as Barrington's boys basketball team rolled to a 63-26 win over McHenry at the Crystal Lake Central Thanksgiving Tournament.
Nathan Boldt added 8 points for the Broncos (2-0), who resume play at 4 p.m. Friday against Hononegah.
Rolling Meadows 58, West Chicago 56: Despite leading scorer Max Christie (29 points, 8 rebounds) being in foul trouble the Mustangs won at the Fenton tournament.
"We committed too many offensive fouls," said Mustangs coach Kevin Katovich.
Trailing 18-14 Rolling Meadows used a 20-8 second quarter run to help pull away a bit.
Katovich praised his bench.
"Our reserves really filled their roles," he said.
Jovonte Warrener finished the night with 9 points for Meadows.
Palatine 63, DuSable 49: Sophomore Julian Campbell hit for 26 points in the Pirates' win at the Ed Molitor Thanksgiving Classic. Luke Seiffert added 9 points to the victory while Demo Collins and Tommy Swanson had 8 each.
Wheeling 54, Northridge Prep 53: The Wildcats moved to 2-0 at the Northridge Prep tournament with this win. Michael Best had 19 points for Wheeling while Christian McLaughlin added 13 points and 6 assists. Brandon Zettek (11 points, 4 rebounds) and Jeremy Kim (9 points) also contributed.
Elk Grove 54, Fenton 33: Ryne Singsank scored 23 points and had 6 blocked shots as the Grens (1-1) won at the Fenton tournament for new coach Nick Oraham's first win. Tim Varga added 9 points for the Grenadiers.
