Maine West reschedules basketball games to Saturday

The high school basketball programs at Maine West have rescheduled their Friday games against Vernon Hills to Saturday. The Warriors boys team has a record of 15-7 overall and 7-1 in the Central Suburban North, tied for first place in the conference with Highland Park. They will tip off at 1 p.m. Saturday in Des Plaines.

The girls team is unbeaten in conference at 9-0 and will try to complete a perfect CLS North campaign at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Vernon Hills. Maine West's girls are 25-1 overall and are tied with Rock Island for fourth place in the Associated Press Class 4A state rankings.

• The Leyden boys basketball game scheduled for Friday at Addison Trail has been postponed. No reschedule date has yet been announced.

• The Larkin wrestling sectional has changed its timetable. The Friday session has been postponed. Action will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, with semifinals slated for 4 p.m. and third-place and championship bouts set for 9 p.m.
