Harvest Christian wins 4th straight regional title

Alyssa Iverson scored 21 points Thursday night as the Harvest Christian girls basketball team won its fourth straight regional championship, defeating host Port Byron Riverdale 54-25 in a Class 2A final.

Grace Ringel added 14 points for the Lions (27-4) while Elena Porreta had 10. Jen Kasper also pulled down 9 rebounds.

Harvest advances to the Bureau Valley sectional for a 6 p.m. semifinal on Monday against either Flanagan-Cornell or Seneca, which play for the Flanagan regional title on Friday.

Burlington Central 63, Woodstock North 38: Kathryn Schmidt led the way with 19 points as the Rockets (26-3, 11-1) put the finishing touches on the Kishwaukee River Conference championship. Mackenzie West added 10 points for BC and Lily Moretti had 8.
