Montini clobbers DeLaSalle on senior night

Seniors Aaliyah Patty and Lindsey Jarosinski led Montini to an 85-35 girls basketball victory over visiting DeLaSalle on Wednesday night on senior night.

Patty, an Ohio State recruit, scored 22 points and Jarosinski, headed to play at Wake Forest, added 18 in the rout. Sophomore Alena Anderson came off the bench to score 14 points, hitting four 3-pointers, and sophomore Sydney Prochaska also scored in double digits with 12.

Guard Illysse Pitts also was honored on senior night but did not play to rest shin splints. Senior guard Neena Franklin added 5 points.

The Broncos (28-2, 5-0 Girls Catholic Athletic Conference Red Division) got out to a 22-7 lead after one quarter and were never challenged in their final home game of the season and last game before starting the Class 4A playoffs next week as the No. 1 seed at the Proviso West sectional.

Freshman TaKyia Howard led the Meteors with 17 points.
