Hampshire's defense smothers Crystal Lake South

Hampshire's girls basketball team held Crystal Lake South to 3 points in the second quarter and 3 in the fourth in a 39-23 Fox Valley Conference win Wednesday.

Freshman Kelby Bannerman led Hampshire (13-11, 8-5) with 10 points and Sarah Bowen and Ally Cermak both scored 7.

Prairie Ridge 58, Jacobs 44: The Golden Eagles (9-15, 6-8) lost despite 18 points from Kyra Cabusao and 14 from Kerri Healy.

Streamwood 54, West Chicago 48: The Sabres (5-18) won the Upstate Eight crossover behind 20 points from Andrea Bracy and 17 by Maddi Exline. It was Streamwood's second straight win.
