Rolling Meadows tops C-G for second straight win

Rolling Meadows 48, Cary-Grove 38: The host Mustangs picked up a nonconference win thanks in part to allowing the host Trojans just 1 basket and a pair of free throws in the third quarter.

Senior Gio Carrillo scored a game-high 16 points for Rolling Meadows (7-9), which won for the second straight time. He finished with four 3s, and canned three of them in the second quarter.

Freshman forward Max Christie had 12 points and junior guard Gavonte Warrenner had 9, which included a 4-for-4 effort at the foul line.

Rolling Meadows returns to Mid-Suburban East play on Friday. The Mustangs travel to Buffalo Grove for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
