Ralston's Glenbrook South crew upend Geneva

Former Geneva boys basketball coach Phil Ralston came away with a bittersweet win over his former team, and Scott Henning, Ralston's assistant at Geneva and now the Vikings' head coach, as Glenbrook South knocked off Geneva 54-47 in the winners consolation bracket Saturday at the Wheeling Wildcat Hardwood Classic.

Mac Hubbard led the 6-8 Titans with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Jimmy McMahon scored 13. Glenbrook South made 21 of 28 free throws including 13 of 16 in the crucial fourth quarter.

Kross Garth paced the 8-5 Vikings with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Jack Hood added 13 points.

It was a no-win situation for me today," said Ralston. "I care very much about the players from Geneva. But, I love this crew that I have at Glenbrook South. I can't thank them enough for the way they played in this tournament."
