Harvest Christian advances to Lisle title game

Elena Porreta scored a game-high 24 points Friday night to lead the Harvest Christian girls basketball team to a 61-33 win over Rosary in the semifinals of the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic.

Alyssa Iverson added 14 points and Jen Kasper had 10 for the second-seeded Lions (10-2), who will play No. 1 seed Walther Christian for the championship at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Kaneland 55, Decatur Eisenhower 41: Kaneland ran its winning streak to 9 straight games and won its second holiday tournament championship behind 30 points from Jenni Weber, 1 point shy of her career high. Jamie Martens added 8 points and 10 assists and Keely Noel had 9 points for the Knights (16-2). Weber and Martens were each named to the all-tournament team.

Burlington Central 55, Rockford East 49: The Rockets overcame a 10-0 deficit to storm back and win the third place game at the Dixon Christmas Tournament. Freshman Elena Wells led the way for BC (12-2) with 20 points, Kathryn Schmidt added 16 and Mackenzie West had 12 points and 6 rebounds.

Elgin 28, Willowbrook 24: The Maroons (1-16) won for the first time this season and snapped an overall 23-game losing streak behind 17 points and 10 rebounds from Dajha Cooper and 10 points and 11 rebounds from Kylie Graves at the Wheaton North Falcon Classic.

Glenbard North 44, Jacobs 43: Also at Wheaton North, Kyra Cabuaso had 23 points and Elizabeth Schwartz added 10 for Jacobs (5-9).

St. Charles East 55, Schaumburg 45: Sara Rosenfeldt scored 29 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Saints (7-9) to a win at Wheaton North. Nicole Jordan added 9 points for SCE.

Glenbrook South 56, Bartlett 46: In the fifth place game at Wheaton North, Lexie Sinclair scored 14 points to lead Bartlett. Kayla Hare was named to the all-tournament team for the Hawks (8-7).

St. Edward 61, Timothy Christian 42: At the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic Hailey Niehaus hit for 25 points and Yssa Sto. Domingo added 12 to lead the Green Wave (9-4) to a win at the Lisle Holiday Cage Classic.

Batavia 50, Huntley 26: Ava Sergio had 16 points and Hailey Orman added 11 to lead Batavia (10-7) to a win at the Montini Christmas Tournament. Kamsi Nwogu led Huntley (1-12) with 6 points.

Conant 52, Streamwood 42: Alexis Rojas (11 points) and Mandy Mien (9) led Streamwood (3-12) at the Libertyville tournament.
