Lindell scores 19 points in Palatine's win

Palatine's girls basketball team pulled to within 1 game of first place in the Mid-Suburban West with a 49-44 triumph at Hoffman Estates on Friday night.

Leading the Pirates to their ninth win in 11 games was Kendra Lindell, who tossed home 19 points, just 1 shy of her career high.

The 5-foot-7 senior guard made 10 of 10 free throws and connected for three 3-pointers.

Also reaching double figures for coach Mark Johnson's Pirates was senior guard Jenny Myslinski (10 points, two 3-pointers).

Seniors Kacie Filian and Tiana Henderson each chipped in 7 points for the Pirates (3-1), who are 1 game behind Fremd (4-0) in the West.

Hoffman Estates (5-11, 0-4) was led by junior Raven Wilson (12 points), junior Kate Mongold (9 points) and senior Tayler Williams (8 points).

Batavia 46, Fremd 37: Erin Golden (17 points) and Hailey Orman (15 points) led Batavia (9-6) over the Vikings (10-6) in the final round of action at the Naperville North/Benet Invitational.
