Prospect wins fourth straight

Prospect's boys basketball program came up with its fourth straight victory by topping visiting Schaumburg 54-38 on Tuesday.

David Swedura was a force for the Knights, producing a season-high 27 points on an 11-for-16 shooting effort from the field which included a pair of 3s. He also contributed 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

TJ Johannesen finished with 10 points for the Knights (4-2), who return to MSL East play Friday with a date against visiting Hersey.

Heze Trotter paced Schaumburg (2-6) with 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting, and Michael Hodges had 10 points.

Barrington 67, Wheeling 54: The Broncos got four players to score in double figures in picking up an MSL crossover win on the road.

Anthony Spann led the way for Barrington (5-1) with 16 points, while Jason Boock had 12 and Jake Parsons and Evan Lauderback finished with 10 apiece.

Wheeling, which returns to divisional play by hosting Buffalo Grove on Friday, drops to 2-5.

Jeremy Kim (14 points) led with Wildcats in scoring, and D.J. Godlewski (11 points) and Isaac Vega (10) also broke into double figures.

Palatine 67, Elk Grove 43: The host Grens kept it close for three quarters before Palatine, paced by five 3s and a game-high 19 points from Lamon Berry, pulled away.

Senior forward Cortez Hogans finished with 18 points for the Pirates (4-2), and Johnny O'Shea had 10. Palatine outscored Elk Grove 16-6 in the final quarter.

Ryley Rathman led the way for Elk Grove with 15 points, which came on five 3s. Tyler Selvig canned three 3s and finished with 12 points, and Dylan Ingebrigtsen had 11 points.
