Rolla's rebounding helps Meadows to second win

Rolling Meadows' girls basketball team had balanced scoring from Alexa Davis (16 points), Melissa Spiwak (15) and Lily Greifenstien (14) on Saturday at Lake Zurich High School.

But sophomore guard Bridget Rolla's rebounding was just as important for the Mustangs to register a 54-45 triumph over Deerfield at the Turkey Thriller.

In addition to her 5 points, the 5-foot-7 Rolla pulled down 12 rebounds.

"Bridget's rebounding was the key to the game," said Meadows coach Ryan Kirkorsky. "We had balanced scoring again. And Mallory Brand (5-11 junior forward) gave us important minutes off the bench."

Senior Caili Hosler also chipped in 4 points for the Mustangs who improved to 2-1 in the season-opening tourney.
