Athlete of the Week, sponsored by GioStar Chicago: Glenbrook South's Eden Frick

Over the holiday break, on Dec. 23, Glenbrook South girls basketball player Eden Frick committed to play at and attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. A 5-foot, 10-inch senior, the hardworking Frick averaged 10 points and shot 74% from the free-throw line. In a game last season against Niles West, she made 7 of 9 three-point field goal attempts. A third-year varsity player and returning starter, last season Frick made the all-tournament team at Mundelein and earned all-conference honors in the Central Suburban League. Off the court, the Glenbrook South honor roll student was nominated to attend the CSL Leadership Conference and was both a peer mentor and a physical educator class leader, making freshmen feel more comfortable in school. Wisconsin-Whitewater went 23-4 overall last season, and was the regular-season champion in the Western Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at 13-1.
