Carter's 34 lead Wauconda past Grayslake North

Donovan Carter scored a season-high 34 points, and Wauconda's boys basketball team defeated host Grayslake North 85-64 in Northern Lake County Conference action on Saturday night.

Benji Chung and Griffin Daun added 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Wauconda (6-2, 2-0), which registered a season-high point total in beating Grayslake North for the second time this season (Johnsburg/Richmond-Burton Thanksgiving tournament). It was the fourth win in a row for the Bulldogs, who also got 8 rebounds from Jake Shanholtzer.

Carter sank five 3-pointers and also grabbed 6 rebounds.

Grayslake North (3-5, 0-2) was led by freshman guard Dominic Jankowski's 21 points (five 3-pointers), Tony Hines' 18 and Jamon Thomas' 10.

North Chicago 53, Antioch 50: The visiting Sequoits dropped to 3-3 and 0-2 in the Northern Lake County Conference.

Richmond-Burton 62, Grant 57: The host Bulldogs dropped the nonconference game to fall to 1-7 on the season.

Mundelein 69, Waukegan 42: On Friday night, the host Mustangs inducted former star guard Ben Brust into their athletic hall of fame and then beat the Bulldogs in North Suburban Conference action to remain undefeated.

Jack Bikus had 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 steals for Mundelein (8-0, 2-0). Trey Baker (15 points) and Scottie Ebube (14 points, 8 rebounds) also scored in double figures. Conor Enright added 9 points and 9 assists, and Syam Atade contributed 3 points and 9 rebounds.

Waukegan fell to 0-8 and 0-2 in the NSC.

St. Patrick 47, Carmel 33: On Friday night, Bryce Moore and Jalen Burton each scored 7 points for the visiting Corsairs, who fell to 4-5 and 0-2 in the East Suburban Catholic Conference.

St. Patrick improved to 6-1.
