Aurora Central secures share of MSC Blue

Kyle Czerak contributed 15 points as Aurora Central Catholic claimed a 58-48 victory over Fenton Friday night along with a share of the Metro Suburban Blue Conference championship.

Brett Czerak and Zack Smith followed with 14 and 13 points, respectively, for the Chargers (20-5, 10-2), who tied IC Prep for the league title.

Hampshire 45, Crystal Lake South 41: Tre Powell poured in a game-high 17 points to lead the Whip-Purs to a Fox Valley Conference victory. Nathan Cork added 9 points and Nathan Gomez had 8 for Hampshire (8-18, 5-9) while Kyle Leva paced the Gators (9-16, 5-9) with 12 points.

St. Edward 64, Timothy Christian 52: Kelvin Cortez-Harvey led all scorers with 20 points as the Green Wave got past the Trojans in a Metro Suburban crossover. Steve Poremba and Alex Franklin chipped in 16 and 15 points for St. Edward (13-15, 6-6).

Harvest Christian 63, Schaumburg Christian 59: After winning the Northeastern Athletic with ease on Tuesday, the Lions (23-4, 12-0) had to rally from a 3-point deficit in the fourth to win this NAC game. Andre White Jr., poured in 25 points while Brennen Woods 19 points as Harvest outscored the Conquerors by 7 in the final 8 minutes.

Westminster Christian 72, Hinckley-Big Rock 43: Elliott Brandon scored a game-high 23 points on five 3-pointers to help lead the Warriros (17-9) to a nonconference win. Caleb Thomas also pitched in 12 points for Westminster.

Crystal Lake Central 61, Dundee-Crown 53: Brett Buske tallied 13 points and Tariq Burns added 9 as the Chargers (4-21, 2-13) fell in FVC action.

DeKalb 35, Kaneland 30: Kyle Stuart tallied 12 points for the visiting Knights (7-20, 4-6), who dropped a Northern Illinois Big 12 East contest despite holding a 22-14 halftime lead.
