Basketball Focus
Grayslake Norths girls basketball team reached 20 wins for the second straight season Wednesday night.
Kendall Detweiler scored 15 points, and Brittney Thibeaux added 12, as the host Knights defeated Antioch 49-30 in nonconference action.
Grayslake North (20-2) won for the fifth time in a row, building a 12-6 lead after one quarter and extending its advantage to 25-14 by halftime. The Knights were up 43-28 after three. Detweiler did all of her scoring through three quarters.
Emily Dugan chipped in 8 points, hitting a pair of 3-pointers, for the winners.
Antioch (14-9) was led in scoring by Abbi McIlhany with 10 points. Megan Borries 6 points came thanks to a pair of 3s.
Grayslake Central 53, Woodstock 27: Morgan Dahlstrom scored 17 points, and Savannah Mudd added a season-high 10, as the host Rams improved to 14-9 and 7-1 in the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division.
Lauren Spalding and Taylor Peterson contributed 9 and 8 points, respectively, for Grayslake Central. The Rams trailed 11-9 after one quarter before outscoring the Blue Streaks 15-7 in the second and 12-5 in the third.
