A rematch between three-time defending Class 3A champion Montini and 2011-12 Class 4A champ Whitney Young headlines the lineup for the 23rd annual McDonald’s Shootout announced today.

The event is set for Jan. 18-21 at Willowbrook High School.

Eight teams from DuPage County will be in action over the three-day event, including host Willowbrook.

Whitney Young, which features Kentucky recruit Linnae Harper, will wrap up play against Montini on Jan. 21. Young beat Montini in last year’s event.

Earlier, Benet and St. Louis-bound senior Christen Prasse will take on defending Class 3A runner-up Vernon Hills and DePaul recruit Meri Bennett-Swanson, and Willowbrook will play Plainfield North.

On Jan. 18 Hinsdale Central and star sophomore Gabrielle Rush will meet Warren. The next day Wheaton North will play Maine West, followed by Metea Valley against Public League power Morgan Park.

Later Neuqua Valley will face Fremd and action that Saturday wraps up with Wheaton Warrenville South and star guard Meghan Waldron against 2012 Class 3A semifinalist Hillcrest.
