Grayslake North falls to Glenbrook South

Glenbrook South 47, Grayslake North 29: At Mundelein, Faith Standerski scored 12 points for the Knights, who fell to 1-2 in the season-opening Thanksgiving tournament.
Meghan Leahy and Grace Wamser each had 6 points for Grayslake North, which resumes the tournament on Friday with a 4:30 p.m. tipoff against Grant.
Johnsburg 60, Lakes 34: Freshman guard Kendall Phelan and Sydney Zellmann each scored 9 points for the visiting Eagles in their nonconference loss.
Ashley Bledsoe had 6 points for Lakes (0-2), which trailed 15-10 after one quarter, 29-20 at halftime and 41-32 after three.
"We saw some good things that we can build on," Eagles coach Brian Phelan said. "We had a good third quarter and got close, but a three-point buzzer-beater hurt a little bit. We have much to work on moving forward, but it's a journey of growth. We are young and still learning the game."
Sycamore 33, Antioch 13: At Vernon Hills, the Sequoits trailed 5-4 after one quarter and then got outscored 12-0 to trail 17-4 at halftime.
Avery Larson had 6 points for Antioch (1-1), which resumes the tournament on Saturday with an 11:30 a.m. start against host Vernon Hills.
Lake Forest 57, Lake Forest Academy 10: At Vernon Hills, Finola Summerville led the Scouts with 13 points.
Halle Douglass added 9 points for Lake Forest, which takes on Elk Grove at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
