St. Charles East, St. Edward earn 1st wins

With a 48-38 win over Oswego East on Tuesday, St. Charles East evened its record at 1-1 at the York Tournament.

Two players turned in double digit performances for the Saints: Victoria Kortan and Elle McCaslin each scored 12 points.

St. Charles North 55, Wheeling 30: Leading the North Stars (1-0) with 17 points, Tatum Settlemyer played a crucial role in a win at the York tournament. Talia Pellegrini added 9 points for St. Charles North.

St. Edward 57, Hinsdale South 50: A huge third quarter propelled the Green Wave (1-0) to victory against host Hinsdale South at the Hinsdale South tournament. Brooke Biggins led St. Edward with 18 points including 8-for-11 from the free-throw line. Samantha Ottinger added 11 points and Arianna Franco finished with 10 points for St. Edward.

Aurora Christian 64, Christian Liberty 24: The Eagles (1-0) grabbed a big win at the first round of the IMSA Hoop Happenings tournament Tuesday night. Thaya Luse led Aurora Christian with a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Anna Griffin added 15 points.

Rockford Boylan 48, Huntley 37: The Red Raiders (0-1) suffered a tough loss at the Dundee-Crown Holiday Tournament. Kamsi Nwogu led the offense with 15 points and Sara Rysavy also scored in double digits for Huntley with 10 points.
