Ott's hot as Lakes nets first win; Grayslake Central beats North Chicago

Senior guard Matt Ott poured in a game-high 23 points, sinking seven 3-pointers, to lead Lakes' boys basketball team to its first win of the season, 54-46 over visiting Wauconda in Northern Lake County Conference action on Saturday.

Brad Cherry and Leighsean Triplett added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Lakes (1-8, 1-2).

Nick Bulgarelli led Wauconda (3-6, 0-3) with 10 points and 6 rebounds. Donovan Carter and Jason Carlson each had 9 points for the Bulldogs, who have lost four games in a row.

Grayslake Central 46, North Chicago 39: Antonio Crews scored a game-high 14 points, as the visiting Rams knocked off the defending Northern Lake County Conference champions.

Grayslake Central (5-4, 2-1) led 28-27 after three quarters and then outscored the Warhawks 18-12 in the fourth. Coby Moe added 7 points for the Rams, who won their third in a row. The winners also got 6 points apiece from Daniel Guckenberger, Ethan Boelens and Grant Hardy.

Raeshaun Somoa scored 13 points to lead North Chicago (3-4, 2-1).

Carmel 74, Richmond-Burton 32: Johnny Roeser followed up his 20-point performance Friday night against St. Patrick with 19 points and 5 rebounds against the Rockets in Mundelein.

Syone Usma-Harper scored 12 point and Mason Schaedel added eight, including two 3-pointers, for the Corsairs (8-4), who outrebounded the Rockets 29-9.

Jeffrey Jankowski scored 21 points for Richmond-Burton (2-7).

Mundelein 54, Glenbrook North 50: Scottie Ebube posted 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks for the visiting Mustangs in the nonconference game.

Conor Enright had 19 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals for the Mustangs (6-3).

Barrington 72, Lake Zurich 67: J.R. Cison scored a season-high 27 points for the host Bears in their nonconference loss.

Will Tucker and Matt McGraw added 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Lake Zurich (2-8), which dropped its seventh game in a row.
