Fremd, Meadows still unbeaten in Turkey Thriller

Fremd's girls basketball team remained perfect in the Turkey Thriller on Saturday with another strong defensive effort in a 56-34 triumph at Lakes.

Leading the Vikings (3-0) was 6-foot-2 Brianna Wooldrigde (11 points, 8 rebounds) as the freshman hit double figures for the second straight game.

Other top performers were junior Olivia Hill (10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal), junior Emily Klaczek (6 points, 5 steals, 4 assists, 2 rebounds), sophomore Grace LaBarge (8 points, 5 rebounds) and sophomore Ruthie Montella (5 points, 3 assists).

Rolling Meadows 55, Johnsburg 39: Led by senior guard Alexa Davis' 20 points, Rolling Meadows raised its record to 4-0 and 3-0 in the Turkey Thriller at Johnsburg.

"Alexa led the way in the first half for us," said Mustangs coach Ryan Kirkorsky. "And Lily Greifenstein (10 points), Elise Kowalski (11 points) and Moira Hickey (10 points) provided balanced scoring for us in the second. I thought we had some great contributions from our bench today."

Buffalo Grove 44, Grayslake Central 29: The Bison improved to 2-0 in their own Bison Classic as juniors Kendra Lee (13 points) and Alyssa Ramos (10) led the scoring. Classmate Macy Floro added 6 points. Megan Fontanetta, also a junior, Floro and Lee each had a 3-pointer.

Maine West 54, Schaumburg 22: Rachel Kent (12 points), Jocelyn Jacob (11) and Angela Dugalic (9) led Maine West (4-0) to its third win in the Schaumburg tourney. Senior Ariana Doroskin paced Schaumburg (2-1) with 15 points.

St. Viator 67, Jacobs 21: St. Viator raised its record to 3-0 at the Dundee-Crown Thanksgiving Tournament as 5-4 freshman guard Nora Ahram scored a game-high 17 points with 3 assists and 3 steals.

Senior guard Natalie Krause added 16 points and 4 rebounds. Also scoring in double digits for the Lions were senior guard Elise Horbach (12 points, 3 assists, 2 rebounds) and sophomore guard Emma Morrisey (11 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 steal).

Leyden 53, Addison Trail 41: Sophomore Yaritza Frias (16 points) and senior Gaby Hurtado (15 points) each reached career highs for the Eagles, who raised their record to 2-0 in the Elgin/Addison Trail/Fenton tourney. The Eagles face Fenton on Monday at Addison Trail at 5 p.m.

Christian Liberty 60, Hiawatha 25: All-tourney selection Julia Wolke scored a game-high 17 points as CLA (3-1) took third place at the Elgin Academy Thanksgiving tournament. Audrey Law (12 points), Megab Ng (11) and Melissa Castro (10) also scored in double figures for the Chargers. Wolke averaged 12.5 points and 2.1 steals in the tourney.

Lake Forest 57, Elk Grove 32: Alyssa Trausch led the Grenadiers (1-2) with 8 points in the Vernon Hills tourney game. Teammates Rachel Kandefer and Isabella Tierney each chipped in 6 points.
