Mundelein edges Lake Forest

Host Mundelein pulled out a close one in North Suburban Conference boys basketball in a 45-44 victory over Lake Forest on Friday.

Conor Enright led the way for the Mustangs with 15 points.

Other key scorers for Mundelein, which improved to 4-8 in league play, were Andrew Silva (9 points), James Willman (8), Tommy Marcotte (7) and Jeff Bikus (6).

Lake Forest slipped to 5-7 in the league.

Libertyville 64, Lake Zurich 45: The Wildcats kept their share of the North Suburban Conference lead by getting 31 points from senior standout Drew Peterson in a decisive win over the Bears.

Libertyville and Lake Zurich remain tied for the league lead at 9-3, while Lake Zurich slipped to 7-5.

Warren 68, Zion-Benton 53: The host Blue Devils won for the second straight time in NSC play to improve to 8-4 in the conference.

Lakes 58, Round Lake 36: The host Eagles picked up their third straight win and seventh in their last nine games with a win on senior night in Northern Lake County Conference play.

Michael Behrendt led Lakes (12-15, 7-5) with 13 points, while Lucas Hollingsworth had 17 to pace the Panthers (0-13 in the NLCC).

Maine East 64, Vernon Hills 55: Seniors Luke Perlin (16 points) and Payton Foster (11) led the scoring for the host Cougars in Central Suburban North play.

St. Viator 58, Carmel 40: The visiting Lions improved to 22-5 overall and 9-0 in the East Suburban Catholic. St. Viator hosts Nazareth on Wednesday in their final ESCC contest.
