Jacobs' Mack earns MVP honor
Jacobs senior guard Kameron Mack has earned Daily Herald MVP honors for his recent high school boys basketball performances.
Max Christie, Rolling Meadows: The freshman guard has only gotten better as the season has progressed. He finished with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists as the Mustangs closed in on a runner-up finish in the MSL East with a 66-44 win over Elk Grove on Friday at Grace Gym, then followed up with a monster game of 34 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in a 64-60 win over Maine East on Tuesday.
Ryan Connolly, Grayslake North: A starter since Day 1 of his freshman campaign, the 6-foot sophomore guard has emerged as one of the top scorers in Lake County. His 24 points in a 64-43 win over Grant marked his 14th 20-point effort of the season. He also scored 16 points to help the Knights edge Wauconda 52-51.
Jack Hill, Naperville North: Hill led the Huskies to a pair of DuPage Valley Conference wins. The 6-foot senior guard scored 31 points in a 71-54 win over Glenbard North and 20 points in a 63-48 win over Neuqua Valley. He hit 10 3-pointers.
Kameron Mack, Jacobs: This 6-foot-6 senior guard led the Golden Eagles to their 19th and 20th victories of the season. He accounted for nearly half the offense in a 41-29 win at Huntley by scoring 20 points and making 4 steals. In a 60-36 home win over Crystal Lake South, Jacobs' sixth straight victory, Mack scored the first 7 points and finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks.
