Foote, Feltner spark Antioch

Piper Foote led all scorers with 15 points and also had 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals to help Antioch's girls basketball team pick up a 47-41 victory against visiting Richmond-Burton on Tuesday.

Taylor Feltner scored 10 points and helped teammates out with 5 assists as Antioch (8-12) overcame a midgame scoring lull to earn a nonconference decision in come-from-behind fashion.

Coach Tim Borries credited the second-half play of Rachel Phillips for the favorable outcome. She earned her third double-double of the season, finishing with a game-high 16 rebounds along with 10 points.

Foote and Feltner both made three 3s for Antioch, which returns to Northern Lake County Conference play Thursday against Wauconda.

Marian Central 48, Wauconda 36: Janelle Allen scored 16 points and Vannessa Garrelts had 15 to help the Hurricanes (15-7) past the visiting Bulldogs in a nonconference matchup.

Junior forward Allie Tylka paced Wauconda (9-9) with 13 points, and freshman forward Kiley Szmajda had 10.

Warren 39, Grayslake North 13: Senior guard Jordyn Hughes scored the 1,500th point of her career, as the host Blue Devils cruised in the nonconference game.

Hughes finished with a game-high 21 points. Kaylen Dickson added 14 for Warren (16-5), which won its fifth game in a row and 10th in its last 11. The Blue Devils led 6-4 after one quarter and 19-7 at halftime, and then outscored the Knights 11-0 in the third.

Grayslake North (7-12) received 4 points apiece from Savannah Guenther and Brittany Grim.
