Career nights for Hoffman Estates' Williams, Elk Grove's Murray

Senior guard Tayler Williams scored a career-high 24 points with six 3-pointers (four in the first half) to help lead Hoffman Estates' girls basketball team past host Addison Trail 56-44 on Tuesday night.

"Tayler really shot the ball well," said Hawks coach Mike Koester. "She set the tone for us early."

The Hawks improved to 8-12 with the nonconference win as junior center Raven Wilson (15 points) and sophomore guard Nora Thomas (10 points) also reached double figures.

Hoffman finished with nine 3-pointers, including two from Thomas and one from junior Alysa Dupart.

"We got in foul trouble but received some great minutes from our bench to keep us on top," Koester added.

Elk Grove 54, Jacobs 41: Elk Grove made the road trip to Algonquin and boosted its record to 11-10 as sophomore guard Megan Murray scored a career-high 24 points with five 3-pointers.

Freshman Isabella Tierney added 9 points for the Grens while freshman Alyssa Trausch, junior Rachel Kandefer and senior Zoe Blomquist each chipped in 5 points. Senior Emma Simmons tossed in a 3-pointer and freshman Olivia Masnica was 3-of-4 at the free throw line.
