Westminster Christian defeats Woodstock North
Ben Versluys made 2 free throws with nine seconds left to play Saturday night to help lift Westminster Christian to a 51-50 nonconference boys basketball win over Woodstock North.
Jordan Warrener led the Warriors (13-3) with 20 points.
WW South 65, Huntley 36: At the WW South MLK Tournament, Zach Loveisky led Huntley with 11 points.
Huntley 55, Chicago U-High 50: Uchenna Egekeze had 15 points and Cory Knipp added 8 as the Red Raiders (4-12) came back to earn a split on the day at WW South.
Streamwood splits: The Sabres opened the day at Lake Zurich's MLK Tourmament by falling to the hosts 52-47. Streamwood was led by Nik Sinik's 14 points (four 3-pointers), Brendon Marton's 11 points (three 3s) and 5 rebounds, and Keenon Cole's 8 points and 6 rebounds. The Sabres (8-12) then came back to beat Richmond-Burton 70-57. Cole led the way with 26 points while Sinik added 22 and Marton 16.
